The end of the beginning.

This will be my final post on the Blogger platform. For the past several years, Google and other search engines have been removing my posts from their databases for a variety of technical reasons that are all related to Blogger's outdated architecture. I'm being penalized for design limitations that are out of my control.

This is very strange to me, considering that Google actually owns Blogger- one would think they would want to maintain a blogging platform that worked well in their own ecosystem, but these days that's not how things go.

I am switching to Medium. I have a few post ideas planned, and I hope Medium proves to be a more hardy and sustainable home for my sporadic writing. And for what it's worth, I do not have any immediate plans to monetize my posts over there, so all of my new posts should be freely accessible to non-paying readers. (If this proves not to be the case, I will probably move elsewhere.)
